Safa Noorzai is a 16-year-old forward from Southern California whose combination of technical precision, athletic instinct, and competitive intensity has drawn attention at the highest levels of youth development in the United States.
Now competing for Beach FC ECNL U17 for the 2026-27 season under Coach Dan McCarthy, Safa has been recognized by scouts, coaches, and media as one of the most dynamic young forwards in the country. Coming off a 2025-26 campaign where he was named ECNL Boys Southwest All-Conference First Team, Safa received an official Afghanistan Football Federation invitation to join the Afghanistan U17 National Team trial and preparation camp ahead of AFC U17 Asian Cup qualifying. Earlier in 2026, he earned the Rising Star Award at the AASA Cup in New Jersey after scoring 3 goals for Arman FC in front of Afghanistan U17 scouts.
A proud Afghan-American, Safa's journey spans from the competitive youth academies of Southern California to an official opportunity with the Afghanistan U17 national-team program — a testament to the range of his impact and the breadth of his potential.
"I want to show the world what an Afghan kid from California can do with a ball at his feet." — Safa Noorzai
